Since
1900, The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama has played an active leadership
role in enhancing the economic stability, business climate, and ever-improving
quality of life in Tuscaloosa County. Since The Chamber’s birth over a
century ago, Tuscaloosa County has grown into a quality, international community
of the 21st century.
Strongly committed to making the private enterprise system
work, The Chamber serves as the voice of business and is leading the way
towards a community that is consistently improving as an ideal place to
live, work, invest and raise a family..... and that has a vision for an
even brighter and more prosperous future.
Tuscaloosa County has sustained a solid, diverse economy
over the past twenty years that enhances the standard of living of the
community. With this foundation, The Chamber continues to strive to maximize
the community’s return on investments of human, financial and civic
resources to build a progressive civic infrastructure and community of
the 21st century.
Tuscaloosa
County’s positive economic climate is a result of an active, involved
business and professional community. Members of The Chamber represent both small
businesses and large, local entrepreneurs and international corporations in
a variety of fields......from health care to manufacturing, from retail and
services to education and engineering.
Members of The Chamber contribute to, and benefit from,
the energetic spirit of cooperation that makes Tuscaloosa County an exceptional
place for investment, business expansion and balanced economic growth.
With a commitment to excellence, our volunteer-led organization
consistently provides innovative, visionary leadership that contributes
to the vitality and exceptional livability of Tuscaloosa County.
Known for creativity and broad-based volunteer initiatives,
The Chamber has long been a leader in implementation of programs that
make a difference. Adopt-A-School, Leadership Tuscaloosa, a regional school-to-career
and workforce development system, Civic Hall of Fame, “One Stop”
Business Resource Center, Convention and Visitors Bureau, long-range strategic
planning initiatives, riverfront development and a host of other programs
find their birth within the minds and hearts of Chamber members and Chamber-led
initiatives.
In
addition, The Chamber’s business plan often includes important and vital
initiatives to enhance education, economic development, transportation, entrepreneurial
development, public-private partnerships, leadership development, and community
relations. The Chamber continues to also consistently promote the involvement
of the private sector in critical political and public policy issues with the
objective of sustaining a positive environment for economic progress and investment.
On behalf of our leadership team, we invite you to join
with us in building a vibrant All-America community of the 21st century;
and we commend to you the active, involved members of The Chamber of Commerce
of West Alabama.
